Here’s a little recording I just stumbled upon. Patrick, Christine, and I were enjoying breakfast at the Busy Bee Diner in Ventura so there are occasional interruptions from our server in the audio. It was 8 October 2014 and Patrick had just finished his visit with me. We were on our way to the Santa (more)
Several years before Patrick died he began sending me manuscripts and documents, boxes of them. During a 2014 visit we discussed these a bit, then shifted gears slightly to my own collection. This is that short recording. JPI’m the son of Patrick of Meadows.
Back in January 2015, Christine asked if my Dad’s life choices affected my own. I recorded this response while driving. Naturally in this vastly interconnected yet simultaneously disconnected world, all things impact all other things. A mosquito bite in Africa can lead to profound consequences in North America. So, yes, there were certainly aspects of (more)
One of the most memorable events that happened while living at your house was when your father visited. It was enormously satisfying to me on so many different levels and I don’t even know why, actually. He’s a great conversationalist, he’s very personable, and he has a great sense of humor. Another one of those long conversations with Patrick, sharing a bottle Scotch at my dining table and talking about life, responsibility, love, and minding our own business. This one is from 7 Oct 2014 and was transcribed by Christine. The audio file is too big to post here, but if you want to hear it, (more)
This is the transcript of a conversation from 2014 between Patrick, Christine, and myself while at a Japanese restaurant. This very special recording from 7 Oct 2014 is a conversation between Patrick, JP, and Christine. It’s too large to upload here so I’ve posted it on YouTube instead. Christine: From your point of view as an 80-year-old man, and your son being 58 years old, and having lived the life that you’ve lived, what (more)
This is a transcription of a really long recording dated 7 Oct 2014, while Patrick was visiting me in California. It lasted almost 20 minutes, far to big to post on this site. I’ll create a YouTube video for it later. It begins when he’s talking about music in college. I’d be interested in Lee’s (more)
While tidying up some old files, I stumbled upon these notes from 2 Nov 2012 which describe a nice (but brief) visit with Patrick. I am on my way now to Jean, Nevada for the Seed 9 Rally. I had a nice but very short visit with Patrick. Here is a quick summary of what (more)
