New CD Now Available!

Samuel Coleridge-Taylor Album Released 1 Aug 2025

Another update to the May 3rd post about the new recording of some of Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s orchestral music.

The album was formally released on August 1st as a physical CD and as a download, and is obtainable from all the usual outlets. It’s also available on classical music streaming sites such Apple Music Classical, Qobuz, Spotify, and Idagio.

It has been a featured album on Classical KUSC, which broadcasts to Los Angeles and and elsewhere in California, and around the world at KUSC.org, and it’s currently Album of the Week on Sirius XM.

A review at Europadisc [another place you can buy the CD] reports “Coleridge-Taylor was a highly prolific and successful composer, yet much of his music remains unknown. Here, Curtis, Michael, and the National Philharmonic present the first commercial studio recordings of a selection of works recently recovered by Coleridge-Taylor authorities Lionel Harrison and the late Patrick Meadows, in modern performance editions created using the composer’s original manuscripts.” It concludes that this is “…a splendidly absorbing album. It’s a handsome anniversary tribute to an important musical figure from the turn of the last century, well recorded and beautifully presented. Do try it!”
