Here’s an undated letter to Pat and Mari, written on shipboard stationery for the “Saturnia” and referencing Rome and Lisbon.
It opens with “Listen, I’ll be in Rome by the end of the month – c/o American Express” and ends with “Lisbon is lovely – I may go there to die – instead of Clarksville, Va as I had planned.”
It appears Pat and Mari were still in Izmir, so this would be the early 1960s.

I’m the son of Patrick of Meadows.
