Thanks for letting me know about your father’s death, as part of what must be a huge job.
I had just a short connexion with him, about 10 years ago. He had republished a nonet by Samuel Coleridge Taylor, involving a virtuoso piano part which I unwisely attempted to play! A friend of mine called Patsy Moore, another pianist, was also preparing the work. We both began to suspect that one or two misprints had crept in, and I think each of us had brief collaborative relationships with Patrick, in which he was amazingly agreeable and seemed to trust the corrections we suggested. As I sweated away, practising, it was very refreshing to picture Patrick out there in Mallorca, reviving my own memories of Deia!
With best wishes,
I’m the son of Patrick of Meadows.
