Thank you for letting us know the very sad news of Patrick’s death.
This is just a brief email as we want to write a longer one with happy memories of time spent with Patrick in Deia and our last meet up with him in Valldemossa in 2016.
We feel very lucky to have met him some ten years ago, as a result of renting The Cottage in Deia, and falling in love with Deia and the beautiful place that Patrick had created together with Stephanie who he talked about with love so often.
We returned to stay there many times and always invited Patrick round for dinner, swapping stories of writing, music, politics, family, love and life.
He was a remarkable, vital man – we always enjoyed his company. We will never forget him.
Thank you also for sharing the special memorial website that gives us a chance to learn more about his fascinating, rich and fully lived life.
We will be in touch with our memories of Patrick in the near future.
Our thoughts are with you and the family at this sad time.
